From Idea Generation to Idea Synthesis
While AI has made generating ideas effortless, identifying patterns in the resulting "creative chaos" remains a manual, time-consuming struggle.
The Challenge
In an era where quantity is no longer a bottleneck, creatives spend more time "organizing the mess" than developing the actual concept.
The Goal
Build a prototype that helps users visualize connections and cluster concepts into meaningful groups automatically, rather than just starting from a blank canvas.
Intelligent Pattern Mapping
I focused on three core AI-driven behaviors to streamline creative synthesis and keep the user in creative control.
- Contextual Branching: Generating new ideas directly from existing nodes to maintain a logic-driven flow without starting from scratch.
- AI as Copilot: Utilizing custom prompts for specific idea generation, ensuring the AI acts as a creative partner rather than a replacement.
- Smart Clustering: Developing an automated grouping engine that reveals patterns and themes that might otherwise be missed during manual organization.
A Functional Design R&D Prototype
The result is a functional web-based experiment that validates a "Synthesis-first" moodboarding model.
- User Interaction: Built an embedded "Try It Yourself" interactive canvas allowing the design community to test the logic-driven clustering in real-time.
- Process Evolution: Successfully demonstrated how moodboarding tools can evolve from simple image boards to intelligent systems that cluster concepts into meaningful groups.
